NAME : Ductility Testing Machine
Quality Standard : As Per IS 1208

Ductility Testing Machine Electrically Operated for determining the ductility of asphalt and bitumen. The ductility of bitumen is expressed as the distance in centimeters to which a standard briquette can be elongated before the thread thus formed breaks under specified conditions. The Machine is designed to test three specimens simultaneously, and consists of a bath thermostatically controlled with inlet and outlet taps and is equipped with an electric pump circulator & heater and carriage moving over a lead screw. Fixed and movable brackets are so positioned that specimen is submerged in water throughout. A clutch arrangement is made to stop the movement of the movable bracket when the rapture of the specimen is noticed. An electric motor is driven reduction gear unit ensures smooth constant speed and continuous operation and provides two rates of pull/travel, i.e., 50mm/min and 10 mm/min in the machine.

Standard Tar Viscometer used for determining the viscosity of cutback bitumen and road oil. The viscometer consists of a chrome plated copper bath, with a drain valve and a central tube to receive the test cup and to position the stirrer, and is mounted on a stand with leveling feet. Stirrer has a curved shield and is provided with an insulated handle, thermometer socket and swivel support for the valve. Supplied complete with 10 mm cup and ball valve or 4mm cup and ball valve as per the requirement and Electrical Heater with immersion heating elements and Dimmerstat for controlling the temperature.

Bitumen Laboratory Mixer

Bitumen Laboratory Mixer for mixing of Bitumen for making different types of test specimens for mix design in the laboratory. The apparatus comprises of A motor driven mixer which simultaneously imparts two motions to the mixing paddle i.e. revolving and planetary. A two speed gearbox is incorporated in the drive which makes the paddle revolve at approximately 140 and 285rpm with corresponding planetary motion of 62 and 125rpm respectively, A stainless steel mixing paddle of the specified shape and dimension which can be attached or removed easily, A stainless steel mixing bowl of about 6Ltr capacity fitted with Heating Jacket for Heating of Sample at the Bottom of bowl with the thermostat controller. The mixing bowl can be held with the mixing apparatus and its height is adjustable.

Core Cutting Machine, diesel engine powered (Grieves Make or equivalent) has been designed specifically for the purpose of cutting core samples from Asphalt, concrete & reinforced structure of roads, airport runways, bridges etc. The Machine comprises of two vertical support columns which carry the drill head/ engine assembly accurately with the help of screwed spindles. The Core Cutting Machine will be supplied with water tank for coolant to the cutting bit. The machine is portable & has towing arrangement with pneumatic wheels for easy movement. The core cutting machine complete as above supplied with Set of Diamond Core Cutting Bit (s) & Barrel (s).

Thin Film Oven test is conducted for determining the effect of the heat and air on asphaltic material as per the requirements of IS: 9382.
Loss on Heating test is conducted for determining the loss in weight of bitumen and flux-oils on heating as per the requirements of IS: 1212.

The Oven is having a double walled Internal Chamber of 400mm x 400mm x 400mm (16" x 16" x 16") made of Stainless Steel and External Body made of Mild Steel Sheet (Powder Coated Paint) or Stainless Steel Sheet with glasswool insulation between the chambers. The Oven is having range from ambient plus 10°C to 200°C and fitted with variable digital temperature controller to maintain temperature at 163°C + 1°C. An external motor with shaft is fitted to rotate the platform at a speed of 5 to 6 rpm and also an Air Circulating Fan to maintain the sensitivity of + 1°C in the test chamber. The Door of the Oven body is fitted with toughened glass for viewing the samples during the test.
